Proven Durability for a Prestigious Five-star Hotel | The Merrion Hotel, Dublin
Some furniture proves its value not when it arrives, but in the years that follow. At The Merrion Hotel in Dublin, Burgess furniture has already done just that. Previous tables and chairs supplied for the hotel’s banqueting and events operation remained in service for more than 20 years, a track record that gave the team confidence to return to Burgess when the time came to invest in new seating.
Set within four beautifully restored Georgian townhouses in the heart of Dublin, The Merrion combines the character and architectural detail of its historic surroundings with the standards expected of a leading five-star hotel. For this project, the hotel selected 130 Salon 95/11 side chairs, upholstered in Sunbury Zenith fabric and finished with a Champagne frame.
The chosen design sits comfortably within the richly detailed interiors while providing the durability required for furniture used across the hotel’s busy hospitality and banqueting operation.
For The Merrion, however, the decision was informed by more than appearance alone. More than two decades of experience with Burgess furniture had already demonstrated the value of choosing products designed for long-term use.
We spoke to Mohamed Id Aamrane, Food & Beverage Operations Manager at The Merrion, about why the hotel chose Burgess again, what they value about the furniture and their experience of working together.

What made you choose Burgess for your project?
We have been using Burgess Furniture for the past number of years in our banqueting department and have been satisfied with their products. Both tables and chairs served us well in their 20+ years of service.
