Burgess Furniture supplies Sofitel London Heathrow, Terminal 5

Burgess Furniture has been chosen as the banquet furniture supplier for Sofitel London Heathrow. They provided 1600 conference and banqueting chairs and 350 banqueting tables for the Arora Suite. Burgess also delivered over 150 flip-top tables for the meeting rooms.

Sofitel London Heathrow, one of the UK’s largest luxury airport hotels, meetings and events venues, recently opened at Heathrow Airport. The Hotel introduces the UK to its first experience of exclusive custom fitted meeting, ‘haute-couture’, facilities. Sofitel has 45 individually designed meeting rooms and a maximum capacity of 1700 in the 1309m• Arora Suite.

The Arora suite is designed as a multifunctional room, ideal for either large conferences or banquets. It can be divided up in to seven different sections which means there is a need for high quality multifunctional chairs and tables that can be easily rearranged. The choice of furniture for the Arora Suite was the Siena-AlldayTM, a lightweight aluminium stacking chair and also the classic Burgess SlimfoldTM tables, with an aluminium edge that gives maximum protection.

Siena-AlldayTM was chosen as it fulfils the role of being an all-day long conference chair and all-evening banqueting chair. It was the first Burgess chair to achieve the FIRA Ergonomics Excellence Award. Because the Arora suite is a multifunctional room the chairs were also fitted with the Burgess retractable linking system for conference usage.

The choice of tables for the meeting rooms was also very important, the range chosen was the Flip-Top which not only looks modern and stylish but has the advantage of being easily rearranged and stored away when not needed making best use of the space.
