Looking ahead at the biggest trends in hotel design for 2020, it seems millennials are having an impact once again.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

People born between the early 1980s and mid-1990s are, in fact, becoming the largest age group in the UK and many are at their peak, earning decent salaries, buying property and travelling the world.<\/p>\n

To brands everywhere, millennials are the new focus of advertising budgets.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no surprise, then, that this unique generation is leading trends in hospitality. How they choose to see the world, how they shop, eat and drink, is influencing everything from restaurants and bars to hotels.<\/p>\n

From our visits to recent trade shows<\/a>, exhibitions<\/a> and fairs, we\u2019re seeing three significant trends emerging: brand consistency, sustainability<\/a> and \u2018Blesiure\u2019. We\u2019ll talk through each of these, showing how you \u2013 as a hotel manager or specifier \u2013 can successfully cater for millennials on their travels in 2020.<\/p>\n

Brand consistency<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Millennials are more likely to spend more money on holidays than any other generation*. In their younger days, many opted for different experiences, staying in quirky places off the beaten track. Today, they\u2019re looking for something a little more sophisticated but they still expect their chosen hotel to be \u201cspecial\u201d.<\/p>\n

Design is important to them. They want hotels to look the part at every juncture. This is where consistency in your hotel\u2019s identity comes into play. From your Instagram<\/a> feed and Twitter<\/a> account to brand colours, typography and interiors \u2013 everything has to be seamless from check-in to check-out.<\/p>\n
